Nachi BMBU Series Angular Contact Ball Bearings
Overheating & Early Failure - Some customers report overheating & early failures due to poor oil flow with larger sized angular contact ball bearings utilizing Inner Ring Guided Cages. These problems are most commonly seen in vertical shaft pumps/gearboxes where the moving components are
designed to be lubricated by a method called “splash lubrication". This relies on rotating components (bearings/gears) to splash & fling oil up towards other moving parts that aren't close enough to the main oil reservoir.
Nachi’s New BMBU Series - Nachi now offers our new BMBU series of 40° Angular Contact Ball Bearings which was designed specifically to improve lubricant flow & cooling efficiency throughout the bearing or bearing set. The new BMBU conical shaped Ball-Guided Cage acts as a turbine when submerged in oil, which pumps the lubricant through a set of stacked bearings or out towards other components. This greatly improves overall lubrication and reduces heat via liquid cooling. The newly designed BMBU Inner & Outer Rings are counter-bored to increase the amount of oil that can flow through the front & back faces of the bearings.
